LangChain & LangGraph Development

Orchestration frameworks for agents that need real control flow.

LangChain gives you the building blocks and LangGraph gives you explicit state machines over them. We use them where a workflow needs branching, looping, retries and resumable state, and we leave them out where a simpler integration would do the job.

Tools we work in

  • LangChain
  • LangGraph
  • LangSmith
  • Python
  • TypeScript
  • Postgres
  • OpenAI

Scope

What this covers

The specific work included when you engage us for this service.

  • LangGraph state machines for multi-step and multi-agent control flow
  • Tool and chain composition with typed inputs and outputs
  • Checkpointing so long-running agent runs survive a crash and resume
  • Retrieval chains with reranking, filtering and citation
  • Observability through LangSmith or an equivalent tracing layer
  • Cost and latency tracing per node to find the expensive steps

What you receive

  • 01A graph-structured agent or chain with explicit states and transitions
  • 02Trace-based observability so every run can be replayed and debugged
  • 03Test coverage for the nodes that make decisions

Questions

LangChain & LangGraph Development, answered

Do we need LangChain at all, or is it overhead?

For a single prompt call, it is overhead, a direct API call is clearer. It earns its place when you have branching logic, retrieval, tool calls, retries and state that must survive a restart. We say so when it is not needed, because unnecessary abstraction is a maintenance cost you pay forever.

Python or TypeScript?

Python if the surrounding work is data, retrieval or model experimentation. TypeScript if the agent lives inside a web product you already run, because keeping one language across the stack removes a whole category of deployment friction.
