Business Process Automation

Mapping the process before automating any part of it.

The unglamorous core of automation work: finding where time actually goes, removing the steps that should not exist, and only then automating what remains. Automating a bad process just produces bad results faster.

Questions

Business Process Automation, answered

Where do you usually find the most waste?

Handoffs. Work waiting for a person to notice it, re-entering the same data into a second system, and status updates that exist only because nobody can see the process. Those three patterns account for most of the recoverable time in the businesses we map.

Our process is not documented at all. Is that a problem?

It is normal, and it is part of the work. The discovery interviews produce the documentation as a by-product. In our experience an undocumented process usually has two or three variant paths in active use, and half the value is agreeing on one.

Tell us where the manual work is

A 30-minute call. We map the process, tell you what we would automate or build first, and what it costs. No retainer before you agree the scope.
