Cloud & AWS DevOps

Infrastructure as code, configured by hand only when it has to be.

Cloud work done well is mostly invisible: predictable deploys, restorable backups and a bill you can explain. We set up AWS environments as code, wire the deployment pipeline, and put monitoring where someone will actually look at it.

Tools we work in

  • AWS
  • Terraform
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • GitHub Actions
  • CloudWatch
  • ECS
  • Sentry

Scope

What this covers

The specific work included when you engage us for this service.

  • AWS environments designed and provisioned with Terraform
  • Containerised deployments on ECS, Fargate or Kubernetes
  • CI/CD pipelines with staging, approval gates and rollback
  • Managed databases, automated backups and a tested restore procedure
  • Logging, metrics, tracing and alerts wired to where your team reads them
  • Secrets management, IAM least privilege and network boundaries
  • Cost review and right-sizing of resources you are already paying for

What you receive

  • 01Infrastructure defined in version-controlled code, reproducible from scratch
  • 02A deployment pipeline that takes a commit to production without manual steps
  • 03A runbook for incidents, restores and routine maintenance

Questions

Cloud & AWS DevOps, answered

Do we need Kubernetes?

Usually no. Most applications run better on managed containers or a platform, with far less operational overhead and fewer things to understand at two in the morning. Kubernetes earns its complexity when you have many services, a platform team to run it, or requirements that managed offerings genuinely do not meet.

Can you reduce our AWS bill?

Sometimes substantially and sometimes barely, depending on what is actually being paid for. The usual findings are oversized instances, unattached storage volumes, logs retained indefinitely and non-production environments running around the clock. We review first and tell you what is realistically available before promising a number.

Tell us where the manual work is

A 30-minute call. We map the process, tell you what we would automate or build first, and what it costs. No retainer before you agree the scope.

  • No retainer before scope is agreed
  • Written plan you can act on alone
  • Worldwide delivery, on your hours
