QA & Test Automation

Tests that catch regressions before your customers do.

Test automation pays off when the suite is fast, stable and trusted. A flaky suite is worse than none, because people learn to ignore it. We build tests around the flows that carry real risk and keep the suite quick enough to run on every commit.

Tools we work in

  • Playwright
  • Vitest
  • Jest
  • Pytest
  • GitHub Actions
  • k6
  • BrowserStack
  • Sentry

Scope

What this covers

The specific work included when you engage us for this service.

  • End-to-end tests in Playwright covering critical user journeys
  • Unit and integration tests in Vitest, Jest or Pytest
  • API contract tests that catch breaking changes between services
  • CI integration so tests run on every pull request rather than on Fridays
  • Test data management and seeded environments for repeatable runs
  • Flaky test detection and quarantine so the suite stays trusted
  • Load testing with k6 for endpoints under expected peak traffic

What you receive

  • 01A test suite that runs in CI with a clear pass or fail signal
  • 02A written list of what is covered and, more usefully, what is not
  • 03A maintenance guide so tests are updated as the product changes

Questions

QA & Test Automation, answered

How much of our application should be automated?

Enough end-to-end tests to cover the paths a customer cannot be allowed to lose, unit tests around logic that is easy to get wrong, and not much more. Full coverage is not a realistic target in most codebases, and chasing it produces a slow suite that people stop running, which costs more than testing less.

Our existing tests fail randomly. Can you fix that?

Usually, and it is often worth doing before adding anything new. Flakiness comes from fixed waits, shared test data, order dependence and tests that reach into third-party services. We stabilise the suite first, because tests nobody trusts get skipped and then deleted, and then you are worse off than having none.
